Former Crown Paints Site, Coolock

Working towards the regeneration of this important landmark site in Coolock

1–3 Malahide Road, Coolock, Dublin 17

A Coolock Landmark in Transition

The former Crown Paints building at 1–3 Malahide Road has been part of the Coolock landscape for decades. For over 50 years it was a busy hub of activity — a significant local employer that served as both the manufacturing and distribution centre for one of Ireland's best-known paint brands. At its peak it was a hive of industry, with deep roots in the local community.

Manufacturing on the site ceased in 1997, and distribution wound down in 2016, leaving the site progressively less active over time. The building has been fully vacant since 2022 and plans are now being progressed for its regeneration.

The priority is to keep the local community and elected representatives informed as that work develops. This website is the official channel for updates and will be kept current at each stage of the process.
